About the author

Juan Narowé

Juan Narowé is a Brazilian artist and illustrator who currently lives and works in Barcelona, Spain. His work moves between drawing and painting with frequent forays into self-publishing and graphic work. His work includes a wide range of languages, media and formats that arise all from drawing. His narratives are nourished by sophisticated references to different disciplines such as literature and cinema. The numerous elements and characters that populate his imaginary arise from a slow sedimentation and a broad plastic reflection. Often the point of Narowé’s game are fragments, memories of a dinner, a conversation or a meeting: anodyne remains of a shared moment. Stories and apparently very simple objects but whose power to evoke is infinitely captivating.

Graduated in Visual Arts from the Federal University of Minas Gerais, he has exhibited individually at Alzueta Gallery (Barcelona, Casavells), Middleman Gallery (Busan), DiGallery (Sevilla), TACA (Palma de Mallorca) and at Meca Gallery (São Paulo). He has also participated in many collective exhibitions and art fairs such as The Curators Room (Amsterdam), Estampa (Madrid), SWAB (Barcelona), or the Tokyo Art Book Fair and New York Art Book Fair.
